Shvyrev Institution(s) Pirogovs Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow Article title Russian HL7 Affiliate: first steps, issues and perspectives Abstract (resume) Russian HL7Affiliate was established two years ago on the base of the Russian state medical University. The main activities of HL7 Russia have been declared as translation, adaptation, development and implementation of HL7 standards in various areas of healthcare, teaching clinicians, IT professionals, students and other interested parties the basic HL7 concepts and using HL7 developments to create national standards in the field of medical information technologies. There are 10 members in our Affiliate. Among them, the well known in Russia vendors of HIS and CIS, systems integrators and the largest producer of drug vocabulary. Discharge summary exchange project based on CDA v2 started half a year ago. Four largest vendors of HIS take part in the project, they are members of HL7 Russia. The project is supervised by specialists of RNRMU. In two coming years we are planning to organize certification courses for clinicians, IT specialists and other people who are interested in healthcare information technology.
