Article title

Research of influence compression degree and chromaticity on medical ultrasonic images quality

Abstract (resume)

The theoretical aspects for mathematical algorithms of medical images compression are stated in this article, the expediency of application compression methods with losses is proved. The tasks of finding an optimal compression method are being solved. The questions of efficiency application the compression algorithms were taken up in view of medical diagnostics requirements. WAVELET and JPEG algorithms practical realization as an example of ultrasonic images compression with various quality degrees is resulted. Obtained data allow defining the most suitable compression degree and visually estimating an opportunity of images use in the medical purposes. The analysis of the results was carried out. Following this analysis we can judge about inefficiency of ultrasonic images WAVELET compression. The reason is too big time of coding–decoding images and significant presence of handicapes and visual distortions in comparison with the corresponding size of JPEG compression ultrasonic images. Influence of image's chromaticity on compression quality is considered by each algorithm. Using the technologies of images compression with losses it is emphasized that one of the major conditions is safety diagnostic data on potentially informative image's sites.
