Using PACS for organization of image storages in healthcare facilities
Introduction. Implementation of Picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) to the work of healthcare facilities allows to simplify the problem of collection and preparation of medical images for storage formation.
Formulation of the problem. Methodology. The concept and implementation of the means of storage, processing and analysis of medical images.
The object of the study is implementation of the means of storage, processing and analysis of great quantity of medical images from multiple modalities.
Study results. The main tasks of implementation of the temporary storage of medical images in the healthcare facilities based on PACS have been represented.
The basic requirements for PACS of healthcare facility have been accentuated.
The following tasks were performed: installation and configuration of PACS, connection of modalities, extraction of medical images for testing of the system.
Conclusions. Suggested the three-level system for medical image storage and processing. The initial results of PACS implementations in two healthcare facilities have been presented. The tasks of further use of medical institution PACS have been specified.
